Bates Numbering

Stamp sequential Bates numbers (e.g. ABC-000123) on every page.

Add Bates numbers for legal discovery, exhibits, or record-keeping. Set an optional prefix, a starting number, and zero-padding width, and every page gets a consistent sequential stamp — for example “ABC-000123”. Choose where the stamp sits along the bottom of the page.

The stamping happens entirely in your browser, so sensitive case files are never uploaded to a server.

Frequently asked questions

What format do the numbers use?

Your prefix followed by a zero-padded sequence number, e.g. prefix “ABC-”, start 1, and 6 digits produces ABC-000001, ABC-000002, and so on.

Can I control the starting number and padding?

Yes — set any starting number and choose how many digits to zero-pad to (1–12).

Are my documents uploaded to add Bates numbers?

No. Your file is processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript — it is never uploaded to a server, so nothing can be stored, leaked, or read by anyone else.
