Files never leave your device
Lock in a filled form. Flattening converts interactive AcroForm fields into ordinary page content, so the answers can no longer be changed and the file renders identically everywhere. Handy before archiving or emailing a completed form.
It runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded. To fill fields first, use the Fill PDF Form tool (which can also flatten on export).
How it works
- 1Select or drag in your file
- 2Choose your options and click “Flatten PDF”
- 3Download the result — everything ran in your browser
Frequently asked questions
What does flattening do?
It draws each form field's current value into the page and removes the interactive field, so the result looks the same but can't be edited as a form.
Does it flatten annotations too?
It flattens interactive form fields (AcroForm). Standalone annotations aren't flattened in this version.
Is my PDF uploaded to flatten it?
No. Your file is processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript — it is never uploaded to a server, so nothing can be stored, leaked, or read by anyone else.
